I'm a UX designer who completed Designlab's UX Academy.

Past Experiences

I believe my greatest strength is my ability to think analytically and search for many solutions to a single problem, which I owe to my experience in electrical engineering. I’ve discovered a lot of parallels between the design process and the engineering problem solving process.

In both design and engineering there is a lot of planning and research involved before creating a product, and then while building the product there are numerous iterations and tests to improve the product. The similarities helped me understand the design process and the importance of each step which contributed to my strength as a designer.

I also did a lot of people centered jobs including being a RA. Through these experiences I met a lot of different people and personalities. I learned how to be more empathetic and communicate better; these two traits are applicable to research and interviewing skills as well as interpreting this information into a design that meets the users needs.

Design Mentality

I chose to pursue design because of its focus on people and how they interact with technical products. It's interesting how people can use the same product in many different ways. I find it fascinating and enjoyable to learn from these behaviors and accommodate each person’s expectations to create smoother user experiences.

I recognize the importance of iteration in design and life and am always trying to learn and improve myself. I hope to accomplish my goal of making people’s lives a little bit easier through design.
